Free Food for Older Iowans in Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Polk, Story and Warren Counties offered by Polk County Supplemental Food Program
Are the hard economic times eating away at your grocery money? Polk County Supplemental Food Program offers free nutritious food each month for eligible participants in Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Story, and Warren Counties. Participants must be 60 years of age or older and must meet income guidelines.
During the closure of all Polk County buildings due to COVID-19, we are currently delivering food boxes to all participants. Once the buildings are reopened, participants will be able to shop and choose different varieties in each food group.
Eligible participants will receive a box of food with canned meat and fish, canned juices and fruits, canned vegetables, hot and cold cereals, cheese, peanut butter, beans and legumes, pasta and rice, boxed and powdered milk.
